JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary
Manage and lead staff that will drive value by establishing, reviewing and improving learning programs. Collaborate with management and stakeholders to streamline learning efficiencies and expand the talent and skills to assist with the organizations success by developing its people.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversee the facilitation of learning programs, in both classroom and virtual environments, creating a comfortable, inclusive and engaging learning environment for meaningful discovery, discussion and collaboration.
- Creation of learning programs/initiatives: Lead the full life-cycle of program design, development, implementation and evaluation, including but not limited to needs analysis, creating/sourcing relevant materials, communications, surveys, facilitation and train the trainer sessions.
- Evaluate learning needs through surveys, interviews and performance gaps to identify opportunities, priorities, and recommend interventions within courseware and software to improve organizational performance.
- Lead an iterative approach to designing and delivering innovative development initiatives tied to measurable business results that meet stakeholder needs and development objectives. Leverage best in class techniques and tools, offer on-going, immersive and engaging learning experiences that include education, experience and exposure opportunities.
- Develop staple curriculums for all employees including emerging leaders.
- Work closely with various leaders across the organization to gain knowledge of departments and capture learning needs.
- Utilize different modalities of learning, including e-learning, microlearning, and mobile learning.
- Monitor budget to ensure appropriate allocation for learning programs and find solutions to ensure implementation.
- Build relationships with 3rd party learning providers to ensure optimal results and on time, within budget delivery of learning products.
- Oversee the maintenance and sustainability of the Learning Management System.
- Manage and mentor the development of the HR department from a learning perspective.
- Monitor trends and best practices to improve performance and engage the modern learner, incorporating innovative solutions into content design and development recommendations.
- Develop and assess competencies for all corporate functions including associated materials for interview guides, performance management, and upskilling existing talent.
- Develop evaluation methods and initiatives to measure effectiveness of learning programs and bring recommendations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources or related field and/or a combination of formal education including the following job-related experience:
Work Experience
- This role is typically attained through:
- Five or more years’ designing and delivering learning programs.
- Five or more years’ experience using instructional design and learning development principles and tools.
- Three or more years’ experience designing and delivering a variety of learning modalities.
- Experience in use of Learning Management Systems.
- Experience applying new learning technologies to learning program design and delivery.
- Experience developing learning solutions, leveraging instructional design principles and delivering successful learning methods and trainings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of: different learning modalities and applying the appropriate approach.
- Knowledge of: curriculum development, delivery methodologies and best practices.
- Skills in: facilitating learning through virtual and in class.
