Medtronic Minimed is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Indirect Sourcing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across multiple spend categories while supporting critical procurement and contracting functions.
As a Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you’ll support Medtronic Minimed’ s Indirect Sourcing organization’s procurement and contracting needs. This individual will play a key role in leading and supporting Spend Control Tower process that includes review intake submissions from the business, supporting low-cost contract negotiations, routing complex or high-spend requests to an appropriate Category Managers, ensuring contract compliance and alignment with regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving daily influx of global indirect sourcing requisitions and assisting business with contracting needs.
This is a high impact, cross-functional role that requires the ability to multitask, work independently in a fast-paced environment, interacting regularly with Sourcing Category Managers, business stakeholders, Legal, Finance, COEs, PMO and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the Spend Control Tower Intake:
- Lead and support Spend Control Tower process by reviewing business intake information, assisting business with the low spend contract needs and routing large spend requests to an assigned Category Manager for review and negotiation.
- Educate business stakeholders on the Spend Control Tower process.
Requisition Oversight:
- Review and approve indirect sourcing requisitions in the procurement tool.
- Ensure that appropriate information is present in the requisition and ensure that information matches that of Spend Control Tower intake.
- Assist with indirect sourcing tasks, escalations, and day-to-day operational support.
Contracting & Compliance:
- Negotiate and execute low value contracts and amendments.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Regulatory, Quality and Privacy to ensure sourcing activities adhere to relevant security, privacy, legal and compliance standards.
- Assist business with onboarding new suppliers or revising information for existing suppliers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
Nice to have
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and service improvements in a global, matrixed environment.
- Working knowledge standard contract terms and sourcing policies.
- Familiarity with security and privacy regulations in the medical device or a highly regulated industry.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Able to work onsite in Northridge, CA, 3 days a week.
- Experience working in highly regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries is strongly preferred)
