The Opportunity Adept Group is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer (1099 Contractor) to join our team! This person would have 3-7+ years of packaging engineering experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment. They would also have experience developing, implementing, and maintaining packaging specifications. Additionally, they would have experience with materials qualification support, trials, and test method development. This person must be located in the Seattle/Tacoma, WA area to work onsite in the lab and travel to other local sites. Possibility for one (1) remote day, when not required to be onsite. This project is 40-hours per week for 6-12 months, with the potential of renewal. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of packaging specifications using SpecRight software.
Analyze and validate packaging specifications for accuracy and completeness.
Process change requests and maintain documentation.
Support materials testing, protocols, reports and test procedure development.
Refine new packaging designs.
Produce reports on packaging performance and Fulfillment Center trials.
Participate in meetings to ensure developments meet benchmarks for customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability.
Travel to engage with customers, supply chain, labs, and vendors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.
3-7+ years packaging engineering experience.
Project management experience.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Great attention to detail.
Technical depth on a packaging material, format, or process.
Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
Developing Trial plans & Creating lab requests.
Reviewing and updating specifications as needed.
Travel to and facilitate trials at sites.
Advanced knowledge of requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
