About the role

Description

The EBF Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance of EBF facilities to include both residential and commercial buildings by making repairs in coordination with the Facilities Management team. The EBF Maintenance Technician will report directly to Facilities Manager- Sites and Assets.


General Duties and Responsibilities (With or Without Accommodations):

  • Responds to work order requests as assigned by EBF Maintenance Lead, which can include but is not limited to, the following:
  • Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry service and repair
  • Furniture relocation and assembly
  • Disposal of broken appliances, furniture, and other items as needed
  • Wall repair and painting
  • Ceiling tile and or light bulb replacement
  • Light Landscaping not covered by in-place vendor(s)
  • Mounting items on walls
  • Occasional emergency janitorial issues as needed
  • Ensures all preventative maintenance services are completed as scheduled.
  • Acquires bids/estimates in coordination with Facilities Manager.
  • Facilitates and monitors quality and progress of contracted work i.e. Roofing, HVAC, etc.
  • Obtains equipment and supplies as directed by Facilities Manager.
  • Adheres to proper municipal codes, agency policies, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Safely operates agency equipment
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment for future use.
  • May respond to off-hour situations on an infrequent basis.
  • Determine facility maintenance requirements and resolve deficiencies in coordination with Facilities Manager and outside vendors, as needed.
  • Triages maintenance events with the goal of resolving issues that impact programs, facilities, and employees quickly while balancing fiscal responsibilities.
  • Reacts quickly to issues involving facility maintenance, requiring flexibility, travel, and patience.
  • Works with Facilities Manager to locate and vet vendors as needed and obtains copies of a W9, Proof of Insurance, and license before work has begun on an EBF facility.
  • Reports completed work on a daily basis to Facilities Manager.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • On an infrequent basis, must be available to perform emergency repairs any time day or night


Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years related training and experience in building maintenance and repair work

Regulatory:

  • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a level one clearance card.
  • Certification in Adult/Child/Infant CPR. (If not current, employer provides)
  • Valid, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment. Must meet minimum requirements of agency insurance carrier.

  • Must have skills in the use of hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance materials.
  • Must be able to prioritize maintenance responsibilities and schedule work requests accordingly.
  • Must be able to utilize a computer and smartphone when responding to or following up on open work requests.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Must be able to move to support individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, cell phone, etc.
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend and descend stairs.
  • Must be comfortable around individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to distinguish smells such as gas and other noxious fumes.
