Operative Clinical Technician

Overview

Provides assistive patient care under the direct supervision of an RN in the Operating Room. Maintains a clean and safe environment, post procedure/treatment, clean up and set up duties. Serves the following age categories: pediatrics, adolescents, adult and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

Assist with room turnover and preparation. Follows established, procedure for cleaning suites between procedures. Keeps current with room status. Starts clean up as directed by RN to expedite room turnover. Moves equipment to proper location. Provides hand off communication.--------------------------------------------------Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Ensures cleanliness of assigned areas and the availability of equipment. Maintains quality assurance records as assigned.--------------------------------------------------Monitors and maintains supplies, orders linen as needed. Ensures the availability of supplies and linen. Procures and maintains appropriate supply par levels.--------------------------------------------------Performs courier duties in transporting items to and from hospital, Responds quickly to request to transport specimens or equipment.--------------------------------------------------Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN. Applies Orthopedic devices as necessary. Assists with equipment procurement, transport and set up for room preparation. Transports patients, specimens, and labs with appropriate documentation. Assists with patient positioning and prepping.--------------------------------------------------

Qualifications

EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required EXPERIENCE:1 year of environmental services, Preferred. 1 year of operating room, Preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider PREFERRED
