What You will Contribute to OHM Advisors
As the Payroll Specialist at OHM Advisors will contribute significantly by ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, while also maintaining compliance with complex legal and regulatory requirements. Your meticulous work, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy are essential for maintaining employee trust and the financial health of the organization.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll information as required.
- Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports.
- Prepare physical or replacements checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors.
- Review and monitor federal, state, and local payroll related taxes.
- Process expense reports in conjunction with payroll.
- Comply with wage attachments and garnishments.
- Point of contact for managers for time and attendance for payroll.
- Oversee timesheet maintenance.
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, 401k, HSA, and other benefits with third-party vendors.
- Assist with external CPA's in performing audits and reviews for financial reporting.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the payroll manager.
Requirements
Education, Experience, Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll related position.
- Experience using payroll systems like ADP, Paycor, Paychex, or Workday desired.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and V-lookups.
Technical Skills
- Must be proficient in basic software applications needed to perform the role. (Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook)
- Proficient in problem solving skills, chase down the right answer and resolve it.
- Can proactively catch and trouble shoot possible issues.
- Possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and workload efficiency skills.
