The Role:
Our Semiconductor CMP polishing Pads Manufacturing site in Aurora, IL is looking for a forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve complex production systems with a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, and technical innovation.
The position involves hands-on engineering work across mechanical processes, control systems, and cross-functional collaboration with an emphasis on Safety. Candidates with knowledge of automation, robotics, integration, and control logic are well-positioned to succeed in this role. This is an opportunity to apply advanced technical knowledge in a high-paced environment while contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations.
This role plays a key part in supporting new product introductions (NPI), customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and continuous improvement of existing processes.
What You’ll Do:
Process Optimization & Technical Support
Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to increase quality, efficiency, and throughput
Analyze process data and conduct root cause investigations to drive corrective and preventive actions
Troubleshoot production issues across equipment, materials, and process variables
Track and improve key performance indicators such as yield, scrap rate, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Comply with Entegris’ health, safety, and environmental policies.
Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and support ISO and customer audits.
Equipment & Controls Engineering
Support design, installation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment including CNC machines and custom automation tools
Assist with programming Robot/Cobots, troubleshooting PLCs, HMI interfaces, and embedded control systems
Collaborate on integration of robotics and mechatronic subsystems where applicable
Project & Product Support
Participate in the launch of new products and scale-up efforts by supporting process development and manufacturing readiness
Support change control, documentation updates, and process validation activities
Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure product manufacturability
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain and update process documentation, standard work, and training materials
Support lean manufacturing initiatives, Kaizen activities, and data-driven improvement efforts
Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in collaboration with maintenance teams
What We Seek:
Education and Experience
Master’s in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
OR
Bachelor’s in the same fields with equivalent professional experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
