Primary Responsibilities:

 
Participate in teaching and service activities as appropriate

 
Maintain a full-time teaching load, including undergraduate and graduate courses as

assigned


Collaborate with faculty in curriculum development, innovative teaching strategies, and

delivery of courses for entry-level degree programs

Advise and mentor entry-level students, which may include supervising student

research and independent study work

 
Manage all facets of Athletic Training clinical education experiences, including but not

limited to: coordination of student clinical placements; clinical affiliate contracts; clinical

site and student evaluations; communication with and coordination of placement with

clinical preceptors; development of new and maintenance of existing clinical affiliationpartnerships locally, regionally, and nationally


Pursue scholarship opportunities within area of expertise at a level consistent with

University expectations as it relates to non-tenure track appointments

Be actively engaged in the profession of athletic training and pursue appropriate leadership opportunities


Maintain both national and state athletic training credentials through the pursuit of appropriate continuing education and self-advancement


Be a good citizen of the University and promote the mission of the University

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Earned post-professional master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.

 

Eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania as an athletic trainer.

 

A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as an athletic trainer.

Areas of expertise that complement those of the existing faculty.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

A minimum of 2-3 years of higher education teaching experience.

Preferred: 

Earned doctoral degree in Athletic Training or a related field.

Greater than 5 years of clinical experience as an athletic trainer.

Experienced educator and/or clinician who possesses a well-rounded skill set that can be applied to a wide range of athletic training topic areas.

Alternately, the applicants may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
