About the role

The laboratory of Dr. Lucien-Matteoni https://www.mayo.edu/research/faculty/lucien-matteoni-fabrice-ph-d/bio-20516964 is seeking a postdoctoral fellow (must have Ph.D.) to join the research team. The laboratory is focused on studying the role of cell-surface proteins in the remodeling of tumor microenvironment and immunosuppression to develop novel therapeutic approaches and improve the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies and radiation therapy. The laboratory is devoted to characterizing the composition of the cancer cell surface proteome and how cancer-associated surface proteins modulate cell-cell interactions and immune response.
In this position, the selected individual would utilize in vitro co-culture systems, in vivo mouse models and human biospecimens (tissue and biofluids) in combination with genome-editing technologies, RNA sequencing, advanced proteomics (surfaceomics, proximity labeling), multiplex immunofluorescence to shed the light on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive immune evasion and resistance to therapy.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic."
 

Ph.D. in life sciences (molecular biology, cell biology, immunology)
Previous experience in mammalian cell biology
Evidence of scientific publications
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Background and experience in bioinformatics (e.g R, python) is preferred
