QC Inventory Technician - Site Services

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Site Services Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Rensselaer, NY
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7 am – 3 pm

What we’re looking for:
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required
Experience: 2+ years of customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling experience is required
Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office suite
Qualifications:
Basic digital literacy, including Microsoft Office required.
Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances required.
Strong communication required.
Excellent customer service Skills: display a professional can-do demeanor required.
Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality required.
Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently required.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are required
Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know experience is desired.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role, you will:
Facilitates orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment.
Manages customers’ point of use or stockroom inventory.
Responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers.
May handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials.
Basic order entry and follow-up on existing back-orders.
Maintains and checks safety stations.
Updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
Cleanroom garment management.
Other duties as assigned.
