Our team is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong technical background to implement and maintain robust security architectures that protect systems and data. This role involves conducting advanced risk assessments, responding to complex security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, all while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this position, you will be a member of a talented Agile engineering team supporting the development of critical mission applications for the space community as a member of Parsons’ Space Operations directorate.

This position is located in Colorado Springs and requires working in the office at least 3 days per week.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related technical field and minimum 8-years experience Additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree
  • Aptitude in implementing and maintaining Information Assurance policies and ensuring program policy compliance while reporting findings to program management
  • Ability to manage the functionality and efficiency of systems running one or more operating systems (Windows / Linux) while maintaining the integrity and security of the system
  • Experience in both assessing and implementing STIGs / SRGs as well as vendor hardening guidance
  • Ability to maintain relevant authorization approvals (ATO / CTF) including interfacing with independent third-party assessment teams
  • Practical experience with creation, implementation, and execution of patch management policies and procedures, covering a multitude of operating systems and hardware devices
  • Experience with vulnerability management, risk management framework, networking protocols, cryptography, and secure communications methods
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Cybersecurity intermediate proficiency certification (CYSA+, CISM, CISSP, etc.) or ability to rapidly obtain
  • Must be a US Citizen due to federal government contract requirements

Desired Skills

  • Experience with authorization relevant documentation (SSP, CONOPS, PPSM, POA&M, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise security tools (Tenable Nessus, SIEM, SonarQube)
  • Knowledge and experience with both VMware virtualized environments as well as cloud-based environments (AWS / Azure)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
