The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated engineering leader to drive the evolution of Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Decisioning into a space where new AI/ML innovation and product capabilities will be added to our offerings. The leader will plan, develop, and deliver features that empower our customers to build the best digital experiences for their users. The candidate must demonstrate technical strength, customer focus, and a passion for leading people and processes to build and operate enterprise-grade solutions.

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership: Lead managers and engineers in designing, building, and maintaining core capabilities of AJO Decisioning's products. Lead the extension of these capabilities into the entire AJO experience orchestration domain.

Strategic Leadership: Lead the AJO Decisioning charter toward a world where AI/ML is an integral part and heavily influences the growth of the product and the value realized by our customers. Collaborate with partners to chart out the product vision and provide strong leadership to the engineering team to realize the vision, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Define and Maintain Best Engineering Practices: Drive technical excellence, operational maturity, and code quality within your team. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends to ensure the organization always applies the best data, ML, and engineering practices.

Operate at Scale: Lead all aspects of the operation of large-scale, globally distributed systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across enterprise environments.

Talent Scouting and Training: Attract, recruit, hire, and cultivate a group with the right mix of skills to support AI/ML, data, and operational excellence needs. Work closely with teams and managers across AJO Decisioning, in different geographies.

What You Need To Succeed

Education: BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience: 12+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading teams that built complex applications. Ability to balance the advantages of each approach in practice. Knowledge and experience building machine learning applications are a big plus.

Leadership: Experience in building and leading organizations with multiple teams (30+) and managing a team of first-line managers. Demonstrated ability to build teams of top engineers and managers in a competitive job market.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of modern software development methodologies and software design patterns.

Operations: Proven experience operating and scaling high-volume, low-latency enterprise services with a focus on reliability, observability, and incident response.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to clearly and effectively communicate complex concepts and their influence/impact to partners at all levels.

Customer Empathy: Strong customer empathy and demonstrated engagement with customers and partners to truly delight users.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $179,300 -- $354,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
