About the Opportunity: StubHub is looking for a Lead Staff Software Engineer - Full-Stack to lead, design and develop the next-generation technologies and complex features that change how millions of users explore, interact with and participate in live events worldwide. As a Lead Staff Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of developing the team's commercial and product strategy and will be expected to be equally focused on user needs and to exercise good commercial (not just technical) judgement. Our Lead Staff Software Engineers are essential for our company’s success, so they must show initiative and enthusiasm for the problems they solve. This is a hybrid work opportunity located in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA.
About the team:The Search team is a segment of our Consumer Experience (CX) division. CX engineers oversee the end-to-end product experience for fans seeking to discover, buy, sell tickets to their favorite live events through our web and mobile platforms. The search and discovery team is responsible for powering our search function by incorporating advanced algorithms and intuitive interfaces, enabling users to effortlessly find relevant content, products and information. Our search functionality ensures a personalized experience while curating discovery features to explore new and tailored recommendations.

What You've Done:
- 7+ years of professional experience in software development
- 2+ years of team leadership/management experience in a hands-on capacity
- Understanding of core JavaScript concepts, and practical experience building robust stateful web applications
- Extensive experience in designing large scale web applications across the entire stack using multiple general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C/C++, Javascript)
- Previous experience designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact; focus on large-scale consumer-products is preferred
- Proven ability to learn other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools
- Experience working closely with product teams, designers, and other engineers to create impactful and highly-performant web experiences

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements across all StubHub’s consumer-facing properties, resulting in high-quality outcomes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across our code
