Description
Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and managing all patient safety activities. Promotes a preventative approach for risk management processes, procedures, and programs. Monitors Complaints and Grievances for compliance with Conditions of Participation. Monitors adverse patient safety events and looks for adverse trends. Has full access to patient health information. Will have oversight and responsibility for the process of data collection and outcomes analysis related to adverse events. Collaborates with Environment of Care Committee to ensure patients are cared for in a safe environment- this includes risk assessments and environmental rounds.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or BSN from an accredited institution
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina
- 3-5 years' experience in a clinical setting required.
- Experience in quality improvement/hospital accreditation preferred
- Infection Control experience desired.
- Project management skills
- Knowledgeable about Behavioral Health reporting requirements- including Inpatient quality reporting for CMS and the Joint Commission.
- Knowledgeable about current healthcare regulatory standards
- Excellent verbal, written, communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of computer applications- Word, Excel, etc.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
