Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Senior Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit, the Degree Audit Analyst is the subject matter expert for day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include analyzing, building, updating, and maintaining degree audit systems, providing data analysis and maintenance services for the Office of the University Registrar and campus stakeholders. This role also involves analyzing, designing, and documenting degree audit processes and procedures to support office needs and stakeholder experience, and informing stakeholders about operational aspects of catalog and curriculum management to support policies and practices.

Performs foundational data analysis and reporting to support operational or planning needs. Prepares reports, dashboards, and visualizations for defined datasets. Participates in identifying trends, evaluating data quality, and designing metrics. May occasionally support basic data science tasks such as pattern recognition or simple exploratory analysis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert for stakeholders when problems and/or questions arise related to day-to-day work and objectives. Serves as primary point of contact for staff when problem solving issues in DegreeWorks and degree audit code.

  • Builds and tests degree audit programs, including rules, required courses, GPA requirements and required number of hours for automated tracking of students' progress toward completion of degree programs. Maintains a thorough understanding of plans of study including degree requirements for undergraduate and professional programs;

  • Builds, maintains, and modifies degree audits using the proprietary programming language, SCRIBE, while working with the campus community to document written and unwritten curricular

    rules; Modifies degree audit programs to incorporate curriculum changes, new courses, and new attributes.

  • Maintains blocks of data, uses standardized naming conventions, and analyzes and interprets plans of study degree information provided by colleges/schools.

  • Troubleshoots challenges/errors related to degree audits. Determines why courses are not being used in an

    audit by analyzing data through the diagnostic reports.

  • Reviews course and program proposals in curriculum manager degree audit check step for accuracy, and makes updates as needed to align degree audit and catalog requirements.

  • Provide training on Degree Audit features and functions in PATH and Degree Works. Create and maintain documentation materials.

  • Works closely with office leadership and campus community to ensure compliance with university regulations and policies in the University Catalog;
