Construction Project Manager

Summary

Estes Energetics is actively seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to join our manufacturing facility near Minden and Bossier City, Louisiana. This facility is unique as the only domestic source of black powder and other critical chemicals. The Construction Project Manager will primarily be responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of upgrades to legacy process buildings and infrastructure used in the manufacture of black powder, and preparation of a new chemical production facility and associated process equipment that will produce critical chemicals for defense, pyrotechnics, and industrial uses. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in commercial construction and project management.

Essential Functions 

• Develop and manage project plans to support project timelines in the 18–36-month time range. 
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders including US government representatives and suppliers. 
• Interface with and oversee construction contractors.
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams in multiple company locations. 
• Manage and maintain records of budgets and project schedules. 
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure safe operation of projects.  
• Present to customers and partners on project status and plans. 
• Ensure documentation, corporate policies, and quality standards are incorporated into completed projects.  
• Ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. 

Competencies, Experience, and Education 

Required 

• 3 years of experience managing construction projects. 
• 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. 
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and balance competing priorities.  
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders verbally, through written reports, and through presentations. 
• Experience developing and analyzing project-related financial reports. 
• Experience developing and managing project budgets and schedules in relevant tools like Unanet, Microsoft Excel, and SmartSheet. 
• Experience identifying and mitigating risks. 
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including 
• • Be 21 years of age or older. 
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and health screening. 
  • Pass State and Federal background checks. 

Desired 

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 

Physical Demands 

• Ability to lift 50 pounds. 
• Comfortable sitting, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. 
• Exposure to industrial machines, heat, cold, and explosives. 
• Frequent movement through a manufacturing environment. 
• Use of personal protective equipment appropriate to the work location.
