Job Description
Visa Global Design is looking for an experienced Staff Content Designer to join our team. We are a diverse group of content creators, storytellers, strategists and design (and payments) enthusiasts who believe content is the connective tissue between our products, our brand and our users. Our team members are innovative thinkers and strategic problem solvers who are as analytical as they are creative. We value hard work, accountability and collaboration, and we prize proven skills and team success over personal gain.
The Staff Content Designer will develop best practices, help establish content strategy, contribute to scoping content projects, design content, perform UX writing, review content to boost consistency and quality, and publish content alongside team members and teams across Visa. Core to this role is collaborating with cross-functional members of our team such as designers, developers, product managers and other subject matter experts to create clear language that is active, readable and human. The Staff Content Designer will operate as an individual contributor. They will contribute to strengthening our content design presence at Visa by working across product teams to optimize product and user experiences, as well as drive revenue through improved content. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with formidable writing skills, abstract and critical thinking skills and a nuanced understanding of design and product user experiences. The candidate must be a reliable, clear communicator who enjoys both working with established practices and forging new ones to co-create holistic B2B2C experiences.
Role responsibilities include:
Follow content best practices and contribute content standards to Visa’s design system for use cases where none exist.
Establish content strategy during project planning in support of team leadership and work within the established scope to ensure timely delivery to market.
Participate in content design to create and uphold consistency across experiences, possess deep knowledge of how to define scalable structures like content models and templates, develop information architecture, and tell stories with wireframes and user flows.
Perform UX writing to develop meaningful messages that support usability metrics, like user task completion, and help users meet their goals.
Review and critique content to boost quality assurance and ensure content strategy and standards are met in practice.
Collaborate and release content with cross-functional team members across Design, Development and Product, and work with Brand, Marketing, Communications and others as needed.
Leverage design research to make informed design decisions while retaining a spirit of critique, creativity and ad-hoc collaboration when needed.
Design content with users and humans at the forefront.
