The Team:

The Threat Informed Defense Engineering Team at Citi comprises a group of highly motivated and exceptionally talented engineers dedicated to fortifying the firm’s security posture. Specializing in threat-informed defense strategies, our team delivers advanced detective and responsive security measures to protect Citi’s assets across major cloud platforms, including GCP, AWS and Azure. As a rapidly expanding unit, we pride ourselves not only on our ability to implement cutting-edge cyber defense solutions swiftly but also on our capacity to provide strategic technical leadership across the organization. The Role: Cloud Security Engineer

Join Citi’s dynamic Threat Informed Defense Engineering Team as a Cloud Security Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated security measures that protect the firm’s assets in the cloud. Leveraging your expertise in cloud security and threat analysis, you will drive the development of innovative defense strategies and provide technical leadership to ensure Citi’s assets remain secure in an ever-evolving threat landscape.

Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities to automate and standardize information security controls
• Onboard health metrics for various security controls to help inform state of security within the firm.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based security systems and security-focused applications
• Standardize testing mechanisms to ensure that controls are constantly assessed and proven to work.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and maintain cloud security infrastructure, including serverless architectures and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance our cloud-based systems and applications

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Implementation: Design, develop and deploy robust detective and responsive security solutions across GCP, AWS and Azure environments to safeguard Citi’s cloud assets.
• Threat Analysis: Collaborate with Citi’s SOC, threat modelling, threat intelligence, and vulnerability assessment teams to inform and enhance defense strategies.
• Incident Response: Partner with Citi’s Cloud Incident Response team to design, develop and deploy solutions for automated containment of security incidents in the cloud.
• Testing & Evaluation: Design, develop and deploy advanced frameworks for the rigorous testing and evaluation of security measures to their effectiveness and reliability, including adversary emulation techniques
