Strategic Investments - Analyst

If you possess skills in corporate finance, problem solving, influencing, and relationship building, this is an excellent opportunity to join a team of 16 investment professionals spread across New York and London. The New York team, consisting of 12 members, primarily focuses on strategic investment opportunities in North America, as well as the Asia-Pacific region.

As a Strategic Investments Analyst within the Strategic Investments team, part of the Corporate Sector in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Acquisitions and Strategic Investments group, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with JPMorgan Chase & Co. line of business executives and external investors. Your role will involve analyzing and executing strategic principal investments and partnerships, potentially leading to JPMorgan Chase & Co. acquiring a minority equity ownership in a company. Additionally, you will assist with portfolio management activities related to these strategic investments and partnerships. This role offers a unique chance to apply your skills in a dynamic and strategic environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Evaluate transactions that involve minority equity ownerships into companies whose products or services are viewed as strategic by the relevant line of business to JPMC
• Execute transaction processes (including communication, reporting, due diligence, transaction documentation, etc.) and coordinate relevant governance and approvals 
• Help with portfolio management activities, including portfolio reviews and reporting, valuations, shareholder / corporate actions, board appointments and regulatory disclosures

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Candidates should have a strong undergraduate academic record and previous experience at a leading financial services, technology, private equity and/or venture capital firm.

The successful candidate should also possess the following attributes:

• Strong interest in financial markets, innovation and investments
• Strong judgement, multi-tasking skills, pro-activity, ability to work independently, and work ethics
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Distinctive corporate finance, modelling, analytical and conceptual problem solving skills
• Professional maturity and personal integrity, robust interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Experience in investment banking, principal investing, strategy and corporate development, and/or financial technology is a plus
