Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the staff development and educational activities designed to address identified or anticipated needs of learners for assigned area(s). Assures the quality of patient care, and clinical practice progression on assigned cross-campus unit(s) through the assessment, coaching, and development of the nursing staff and collaboration with interdisciplinary care team. This includes the all aspects of clinical practice, patient care, workplace safety, and the outcomes of care patients receive. Position Summary:
Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the staff development and educational activities designed to address identified or anticipated needs of learners for assigned area(s). Assures the quality of patient care, and clinical practice progression on Employee Health Services through the assessment, coaching, and development of the nursing staff and collaboration with interdisciplinary care team. This includes all aspects of clinical practice, patient care, workplace safety, and the outcomes of care patients receive. Participates in the development and implementation of educational programs for Employee Health Services.
Clinical Practice & Patient Experience:
- Participates in the development of goals, objectives, policies and procedures for efficient departmental operations.
- In collaboration with other unit-based leadership, coordinates team huddles during the day and in the evening to review new admissions, patient progression towards goals and discharge plan, to improve access and facilitate patient transitions.
- Responsible for communicating, educating and monitoring changes to clinical practice and expectations including reviewing documentation, providing additional support to staff and reporting ongoing non-compliance to management.
- Collaborates with the leadership team in the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of systems to support and enhance the competence, autonomy, and accountability of the nursing staff including defining nursing standards, practices, and educational needs of patient and nursing staff.
