Head of Capital Markets

With Wayfair’s push for profitability comes the need for strong financial partnership, planning, and support across the business. Wayfair’s Finance team enjoys tackling challenging problems and translating quantitative analyses into broader, strategic business implications. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Capital Markets & Strategic Finance who will help drive the evolution of Wayfair’s capital structure including communicating our capital and liquidity needs and strategy to our Board of Directors and managing ongoing dialog with external advisors and financing partners. In addition, you will support ad hoc strategic finance activities including long-range financial planning and evaluating, analyzing and executing all M&A and strategic investments. 

This role will report to the Director, Strategic Corporate & Commercial Finance. The position will have regular communication with the CFO and CAO. Your work and leadership will provide the business with critical financial insights which directly impact the future direction of Wayfair's business. 

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the maturation of our capital structure through continuous assessment of how our balance sheet should evolve over time. 
• Work with cross-functional teams across finance and legal to execute financing transactions, acting as our subject matter expert.
• Manage relationships with advisors and financing partners.
• Own long-term liquidity modeling and stress testing.
• Prepare board materials with respect to long-term financial forecast including capital structure. 
• Research and analyze high priority strategic markets, including industry mapping and deep dives into targeted M&A and partnership opportunities.
• Hire, onboard, and develop junior team member(s). 

What You’ll Need:

• 7+ years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, and/or private equity.
• Superior quantitative and analytical skills with financial modeling experience building operational and cash flow models.
• Results oriented mindset with a history of achieving goals through collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing board and/or executive level strategic and financial presentations.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities through strong project management skills.
