Howden Ireland are delighted to have a vacancy as Sales Manager who will act as the Sales Lead for our Personal lines business. For this position the successful candidate will need the ability to communicate with Senior leadership while implementing strategic initiatives across the Personal Lines business.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Personal Lines Managing Director the Sales Manager role a key focus on overseeing the management of the insurance PL Sales, developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth for Howden. Additionally, this position involves setting sales targets and overseeing the sales process from prospecting to closing deals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis and improvement of our Sales reporting suite

• Ongoing Trading process review and improvement, working closely with our Business

• Ensuring that the business is operationally compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements, working closely with our Compliance team

• Supplier Management, including the embedding of a robust supplier management framework, and consolidation of suppliers where possible.

• Reviewing and improving our Sales strategy

• Create and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and revenue goals

• Establish sales targets, quotas, and performance metrics for the sales team, monitoring progress and taking corrective action as needed.

• Identify and prioritize sales opportunities, target markets, and customer segments based on market analysis and business objectives.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, addressing their needs and resolving issues.

• Create pricing strategies, discount structures, and sales incentives to maximize profitability and competitiveness.

• Work with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales strategies with product launches and business initiatives.

• Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

• Establish sales forecasting and pipeline management processes to accurately predict sales revenues and track performance.

About You:

• 5+ years relevant experience within the insurance industry or alternatively demonstrated ability to manage a sales process/project management

• Minimum CIP qualification with a view to progressing towards MDI/ACII

• Demonstrate a market awareness and ability to influence Company Strategy.

• Ability to communicate with senior level executives internally and externally with the intention of building long lasting work relationships.

• Extremely well organised with excellent time management skills.

• Ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a busy environment.

• Keen eye for detail and strong on the financial side of budget preparation.

• Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and ability to implement strategic initiatives with proven track record of same.
