About the role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Manager, Payroll to join our Accounting Operations team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing payroll processes, and leading a team to deliver accurate and timely payroll for the organization. This role requires deep expertise in payroll systems, tax regulations, and process improvement, as well as strong leadership and collaboration skills to work across HR, Finance, and Compliance teams.
 
What You Will Do: 

Global Payroll Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries.

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution for all employees globally.

  • Manage payroll operations, including payroll calculations, deductions, and disbursements.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international payroll regulations and tax laws.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments.

  • Manage relationships with external regulatory bodies and auditors.

Process Optimization and Standardization

  • Develop and implement standardized payroll processes and procedures across all regions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in payroll operations globally.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, including payroll managers and analysts.

  • Provide training, guidance, and support to the payroll team.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, finance, and IT teams.

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with regional payroll teams.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Develop and maintain payroll reports and dashboards for management and stakeholders.

  • Provide data analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Generate compliance and regulatory reports as required.

Budget and Cost Management

  • Develop and manage the global payroll budget.

  • Monitor payroll expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support payroll operations.

Project Management

  • Lead and manage global payroll projects, such as system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

  • Develop and maintain project documentation and timelines.

What You Will Bring With You:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and 5+ years of experience in payroll, which must include 2 years in payroll management OR High School diploma and 9+ years of experience in payroll, which must include 2 years in payroll management.

  • Experience running payroll for 2500 employees and above.

  • 2 years of people management experience.

  • Knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance. 

  • Experience with ADP and Workday payroll providers.

  • Experience with Costpoint. 

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). 

Professional Skills: 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to identify key issues and patterns from partial and conflicting data.
