Job Description:

Summary:

The Design and Build Lab (DaBL) is seeking a motivated and creative undergraduate or graduate student employee to join our team as a Student Lab Technician. Student Technicians support the daily operations of the makerspace by assisting visitors, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment. Ideal candidates will have experience or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas: digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl cutting), electronics and Arduino, vector graphics design, 3D modeling, woodworking, or general prototyping.

Essential Functions:

• Training and mentoring other students.

• Monitoring equipment use.

• Troubleshooting basic technical issues.

• Organizing tools and materials.

• Supporting events or workshops.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.

• 10 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $17.95 - $18.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Strong communication skills.

• Reliability is required.

• A collaborative mindset is essential.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Training will be provided for all major equipment and safety procedures.
