Recursion is at the forefront of reimagining drug discovery through the integration of automated cell biology, high-dimensional and diverse data sets, and sophisticated analytics. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Director of Clinical Operations who will oversee the conduct of one or more clinical trials from study start-up to study closure and In this role, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of clinical operations for a portfolio of programs, including but not limited to, oncology and rare disease, from IND through proof-of-concept and pivotal studies
- Contribute to clinical development strategy and serve as Clinical Operations subject matter expert on program teams and on important study documents, including study protocols, amendments, investigator brochures (IB), and Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs) alongside the clinical development leadership team
- Create organizational or functional principles and standards for clinical operations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage and provide leadership to clinical operations direct reports, including, but not limited to Clinical Trial Associates, Clinical Trial Managers, and/or Clinical Project Managers
Location:
Making Salt Lake City your home base is ideal, however, we will consider remote work for this position. We ask that remote employees commit to regular on-site visits for routine work and departmental events.
The Team You’ll Join
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will be an essential member of the Recursion Development Team and a leader within the Clinical Operations team. The Development Team is an empowered, execution-minded group of business development and clinical development professionals responsible for translating Recursion’s innovative science to patients through clinical and business development activities. In your role, you will lead the development of Phase 1, proof-of-concept, and pivotal studies for a portfolio of diverse therapeutic programs in an exciting startup environment. You will need a unique combination of strong fundamentals in clinical development and the ability to be creative in executing the right clinical operations strategy for each program. The team is dedicated to operational excellence across our programs.
The Experience You’ll Need
- 10+ years of experience in a clinical operations role in the biopharmaceutical industry with:
- at least 2+ years most recent experience at a small or midsize biotech working in a small team environment, and,
- at least 3-5+ years of people management/leadership experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical trial processes from Phase 1 through pivotal studies, including principles for accelerated trial execution
- Demonstrated track-record of successful clinical trial execution
- Domain expertise in oncology and/or rare disease drug development and an understanding of unique considerations for small patient populations
- Current knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and ICH Guidelines and the application of the conduct to clinical studies
- An understanding of principles of relationship management across diverse internal and external stakeholders over the course of a clinical development program

At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is:
- Developing: $192,000
- Skilled: $212,000
- Expert: $ 234,000
