Job Title: Senior Director, Technology Procurement and Supply Chain

Location: Hybrid – preferably east coast within close proximity to NY or Ashburn, VA


Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director – Technology to lead our global procurement and category management functions for Technology across Software, Hardware, and Network spend. This leader will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 40 professionals while driving supplier strategy, category planning, and commercial governance across a complex and dynamic technology supply chain. You will act as a commercial engine for the company, partnering with sales teams to enable revenue-generating deals while acting as the guardian of our bottom line against major technology partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Category Leadership & Technical Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for Software, Hardware, and Network spend, ensuring alignment with business objectives and evolving market trends.
  • Bridge the Technical Gap: Provide the technical leadership required to guide the team in data-driven decision-making. Move the team from reactive buying to proactive ecosystem mapping.
  • High-Stakes Negotiations: Lead complex renewals and disputes with Tier-1 strategic partners including Microsoft, AWS, Dell, Oracle, and Cisco. Manage critical licensing structures (Enterprise Licensing Agreements, Minimum Purchase Commitments, Partnership Agreements) to optimize value.

Supplier Governance & "Problem" Resolution

  • Lead governance for 280+ managed suppliers.
  • Resolve high-friction supplier issues, such as invoice blocking, credit guarantee issues, and overcharging disputes.
  • Drive supplier innovation to enhance business capabilities, specifically in AI sourcing  and cloud transformation.
  • SOX control owner for Minimum Purchase Commitment (MPC) management

Business Support & Revenue Enablement

  • Commercial Advisory: Partner closely with sales and solutioning teams to close client-facing deals. You will effectively act as a "pricing engine" to ensure our bids are competitive and profitable.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build trust with independent internal finance leaders through transparency and early engagement, while maintaining a strong alliance with Legal and Risk Management teams.

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of ~40 professionals. Identify and groom high-potential talent to prevent flight risks.
  • Data & Tooling Transformation: Drive the cleanup of commodity code structures and optimize the use of our tech stack (SAP, Ariba, Sirion Labs) to improve data integrity and reporting.
  • Perform data analysis from supplier data to manage supplier performance and adjust supplier strategy with data driven approach

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 15+ years in technology procurement or supply chain leadership, specifically managing multi-billion dollar spend portfolios.
  • Technical Fluency: Unlike traditional procurement leads, you must possess a strong understanding of the IT ecosystem (Cloud, AI, Licensing models) to guide a team that lacks deep analytics capabilities.
  • Complex Negotiation: Proven track record of managing difficult vendor relationships and turning around underperforming contracts.
  • Tools: Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, and Sirion Labs (CLM) is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or technology (MBA preferred).
  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience in outsourcing, managed services, or strategic technology partnerships.
    • Knowledge of emerging trends in technology sourcing, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
    • Familiarity with Six Sigma, ITIL, or similar process improvement methodologies

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $143,800 - $298,800.
