Role Description
Portfolio and Strategic Operations (P&SO) enables decision making and insights for BMS stakeholders. The core responsibility of a resource modeling support role is to enable the Resource Modeling lead to generate meaningful resource related insights that inform and influence resource implications of portfolio decisions. This role will be working indirectly with our internal stakeholders in the Global Development Organization (GDO) to build upon existing capabilities and bring novel approaches and ensure our tools and methodologies are consistently aligned with functional operating models. This candidate will collaborate with stakeholders assist in predicting the resource needs of a constantly evolving global portfolio to ensure we can execute the pipeline with both speed and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver solutions, reports, dashboards etc. to answer questions related to demand and capacity management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the execution of monthly or quarterly reporting deliverable and ad-hoc requests
- Work with P&SO and GDO functions and cross functional leadership to design and implement efficient, integrated processes to link study planning and feasibility, country/site planning, and predicted operational risks into resource forecasts.
- Ensure planning inputs such as templates, drivers, algorithm design are actively managed to represent and evolve to meet organizational needs.
- Apply best RM practices regarding FTE modeling and forecasting, headcount management, time actuals capture and interpretation. Share knowledge and subject matter expertise to develop RM aptitude amongst team members.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate (BA/BS) degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience or graduate school in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry
- Experience with clinical studies, clinical research, or clinical operations preferred
- Basic understanding of functions, roles and major work packages associated with each phase of drug development / lifecycle management and the ability to translate that work into project and portfolio level forecasts
- Experience contributing to cross functional teams towards goals and decisions, including identifying barriers, facilitating solutions, and escalating risks.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment
- The ability to extract and communicate meaningful qualitative and quantitative insights from raw data using modern BI tools (Excel, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
