Job Description

The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education that lasts up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research and Development Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-op student to join our Research and Development team, which is focused on validating and optimizing novel bioluminescence (Nano-Luc) substrates. The successful candidate will contribute to in vitro and in vivo assay development, substrate testing, and data analysis to enhance bioluminescence imaging technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Generate cell lines expressing Nano-Luc/Firefly-Luc using viral transduction

• Perform in vitro bioluminescence assays using Nano-Luc/Firefly-Luc expressing cell lines to evaluate substrate performance (brightness, stability, kinetics)

• Assist with cytotoxicity and cell viability assays to assess substrate biocompatibility

• Support in vivo imaging studies in small animal models, including substrate administration and luminescence data acquisition

• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety protocols

• Interpretation of imaging data, presentation of the results, and recommendations of next steps to project teams

Education:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

Required Experience and Skills:

• Candidates should have experience in in-vitro cellular and molecular biology skills, including tissue culture, cell-based assays, viral infection, Western, etc.

• Candidates must have experience in designing and testing vectors for promoter-based expression of genetic reporters (luciferase, GFP, etc.) in tissue culture and in animals

• Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Candidates should have animal handling experience

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Salary range:

The salary range for this role is $39,600.00-$105,500.00 USD
