About the role

Who we are:

For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world’s most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It’s a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

We encourage you to apply if your qualifications and experience are a good fit for any of our openings.

Our vision:

Global Relay is an innovative business and this extends to its approach in developing highly engaging and informative content services for its prospects, customers, partners and employees. GRIP, which is an acronym for Global Relay Intelligence & Practice, was launched in early 2023, is a product in its own right and will be a new revenue line in 2024.

GRIP functions with a high degree of editorial autonomy, has its own team and identity, and, being fully supported by Global Relay and its founder, is not held back by the usual foundational obstructions that start-ups have to put in place such as resource, infrastructure, capital and premises.

GRIP delivers a modern and practical streamed content service that focuses on informing the C-suite on essential developments, news, and intelligence in order to conduct their roles with speed, confidence and precision. The service is already producing a weekly podcast and there is an expectation of richer multi-media content being available in the future.

The GRIP founding team has considerable experience in this area and has a strong track-record in meeting its business objectives.

This role reports to the Content Manager US and is based in NYC; there will be a dotted reporting line to the Managing Editor based in London.

You will also review and edit content to prepare it for publication. You will play a key role in maintaining the website, working in support of the Content Manager US and alongside an experienced team based in London.

Your job:

  • Carry out independent research in the areas covered by GRIP (compliance, data, ESG, regulation and technology)
  • Develop leads and contacts and maintain close relationships with our professional community
  • Write and prepare stories that are timely, informative and insightful
  • Ensure that content published out of the US meets the high standards expected by a sophisticated and demanding global professional audience
  • Edit content as necessary and enrich it with interlinks and other elements.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of content through quality control.
  • Act as the US deputy to the GRIP Managing Editor and help set the global editorial strategy.
  • Perform as a subject matter and legal expert providing expert guidance and advice as required
  • Adhere to GR policy and legal and contractual guidelines
  • Represent GRIP and GR as required at conferences and external corporate events

About you:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience as a reporter, technical writer or editor
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline
  • Interest in compliance, regulatory affairs, technology and the legal ecosystem
  • Ability to listen to and build rapport with contacts, leads and sources
