We have an exciting opportunity for a Children's Homebased Supervisor to join our team of talented professionals.


The Children’s Home Based Supervisor is responsible for the administrative and clinical functioning of Children’s Home Based Services, which includes all the functions necessary for the delivery of services to the institutions and client populations of the community served by this array of programs. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although evenings and weekends may also be required based on program needs. Supervisor will also provide on-call after hours crisis intervention when necessary.


This position comes with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.


Specific Responsibilities Include:


1. Provide clinical supervision to staff, interns, and volunteers in Children’s Home-Based services.

2. Review and organize all treatment records and reports pertaining to the treatment and the rendering of services to children.

3. Organize and lead staff meetings as well as attend multiple administrative meetings.

4. Assess need for routine and emergency mental health services and monitor delivery.

5. Provide and/or coordinate emergency assessments to clients in crisis when necessary.

6. Provide on call after hours crisis intervention when necessary.

7. Managing staff and department within span of control, including but not limited to: making recommendations with particular weight as to the interviewing, selecting, hiring, and termination of staff; setting and adjusting hours of work; on-boarding and training staff; directing work and assignments; appraising and evaluation of staff work performance; handling of staff complaints and grievances; and disciplining employees.

8. Responsible for participating in monthly Total Quality Management Committee meeting, actively implement the agency’s quality improvement initiatives within their assigned areas, monitor the implementation and adherence to the established quality improvement initiatives, activities and policies.

9. Assume responsibility for reports required by the agency or funding sources.

10. Act as a community liaison to hospitals and other community agencies in an effort to assist clients.

11. Participate in assessment of community needs and consult with community organizations as needed.

12. Participate in agency committees as needed or assigned.

13. Complete 25 hours of training specific to children and/or adolescents on an annual basis, as well as additional required annual trainings.

14. Any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling.
  • Current licensure by the State of Michigan as an LMSW, LLP, or LPC.
  • At least three years experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
  • Must have exemplary clinical skills, including detailed knowledge of the DSM, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, the ability to remain calm in a crisis, and a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Must meet requirements for Children’s Mental Health Professional (CHMP) within 120 days of hire. Must also demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills and strong computer skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable driving record.
