Overview

The Genetics Clinic at Children's Mercy provides state-of-the-art evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and counseling for a variety of inherited conditions and chromosome disorders and genetic birth defects. The team includes physicians who are board-certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics and genetic counselors, all here to help you and your child.

  • The Down Syndrome Clinic at Children’s Mercy offers specialized services to children with Down syndrome and their families. As the only certified pediatric Down syndrome program in the region, our multidisciplinary team has been serving families since 1989.

This role will split the schedule between the genetics and down syndrome clinic.  

 

Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree ADN Required
  • Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
