Department Overview

The Accounting and Finance department oversees the accounting and financial planning and reporting functions of the organization. The team oversees accounting functions such as general ledger accounts, financial statements and cost control systems with a focus on regulatory compliance and practices.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the revenue accounting and costing functions for the organization down to the gross profit level.  This role also oversees Accounts Receivable and Collections functions.  The role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Additionally, the effective candidate must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial concepts, including US GAAP, and a proven track record of managing a team of accountants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team in Revenue Accounting, AR and Costing departments/functions.
• Work cross functionally with Sales, Operations and Accounting leadership in the organization.
• Drive the implementation of any new accounting Standards for Revenue & Cost accounting.
• Monitor and review daily, monthly, and quarterly Revenue/Costing transactions.
• Assist in the Monthly Close process with the Corporate Controller.
• Review closing journal entries and account reconciliations for Revenue and Cost functions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (SOX compliance).
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team.

Education

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• MBA or CPA preferred

Experience

• Experience in related domain fields preferred (Ag-Tech, Seeds, Ingredients)
• +5 years in similar roles, managing inventory and costing as well as AR experience.
• Strong ability to cultivate relationships with subject matter experts, operations, and commercial teams.
• Demonstrate a history of working at executive levels to influence others and build consensus and commitment to a recommended direction while managing multiple collaborators; genuinely value and solicit others’ input and expertise.
• Strong financial acuity, including undertaking critical analysis of financial statements and forecasts.
