As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for providing R&D Engineering Leadership for the Kimberly-Clark North America Personal Care businesses to support new product innovation and renovation, expansion, and optimization. Responsibilities include leading Engineering Feasibility Studies, coordinating work across a broad range of team members, developing and executing a capital equipment learning plan, and managing success criteria and risk mitigation for assigned projects to ensure a successful transition to the capital execution team.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead engineering development through new product development and start up for projects that vary in scope and cost from less than $1MM to over $10MM in support of new product innovation, renovation, expansion, and optimization

  • Know and follow Project Management Practices and manage all projects to meet or exceed project success criteria and timing

  • Provide engineering leadership to a team of internal and external engineers to establish equipment designs that deliver against process and product success criteria

  • Develop and apply LEAN capability to support continuous improvement strategies and activities. Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve business unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause.

  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner, developing equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines and for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel

  • Review and approve drawings, data sheets, equipment specs, Process & Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and system layouts for engineering accuracy

  • Travel: Up to 25%

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering and 5 years or more of experience in a related engineering field or an Associate, Bachelor, or advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline and applicable experience may also be considered

  • Demonstrated experience in Personal Care engineering design/feasibility and project management with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes

  • Demonstrated ability to network, collaborate and influence across staff functions and departments as well as manufacturing sites

  • Demonstrated experience leading external Technical Service Providers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly, concis
