Collins Aerospace is looking for a Software Technician to assist in our Flight Management Systems Department. The ideal candidate for this position is adaptable and eager to learn new skills in a constantly evolving environment. What You Will Do:

  • Under minimal supervision, performs substantially varied and complex tasks.
  • Apply advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.
  • Adapt new procedures, techniques and tools to meet the highly complex requirements of position.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of other employees.
  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with configuration management requirements.
  • Assist with structure and scheduling if upgrading existing software.
  • System software loading.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software, python, or networking.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Practical knowledge of JIRA.
  • Associate’s degree in software engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with C#, Python.
  • Networking knowledge.
  • Self-driven, customer focused and willing to take responsibility.
