What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Academic Advising within the School of Engineering & Computer Science. 

A Master’s Degree and at least six years of relevant work experience is required. Eight years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another. 

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Assist students in developing educational plans, selecting courses, and documenting academic progress
  • Supervise one full-time Academic Advisor
  • Serve as the Advising Leader for the ECS Undergraduate Programs Office by overseeing creation of all advising forms/materials, assessing the student's ECS Advising experience, and serving as the ECS representative on the university's Advising Leadership Council
  • Provide optional advising for students pursuing any minor offered through the School of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Coordinate summer group advising sessions for new students
  • Coordinate Graduation Planning sessions for current juniors
  • Oversee all catalog changes and serve as the point-person and technical reviewer for Course Inventory Management (CIM) submissions for all ECS programs and courses
  • Assist with recruiting initiatives, such as providing ECS tours, attending recruitment events, and answering advising questions from prospective students
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support the mission of Baylor University 
  • Comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
