As a Senior Crew Lead, your primary responsibility is to lead and oversee technicians performing aircraft maintenance, ensuring all work is completed with quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on guidance to support the growth and performance of Lead Technicians and Technicians. 

Essential Functions

Walk through hangar prior to shift start and end taking notes on racks, tables, fire bottles and general cleanliness, assign technicians to fix findings.  





Review previous shift shop turnover log.  





Review the work orders that you are responsible for on an hourly basis.  





Assign technicians to the task needed to keep on track of ERTS data on your aircraft following the inspection flow outline.  





Review work order and order any parts that need ordering for your tasks.  





Review work order and move tasks into proper locations (i.e. Interiors, findings, etc.).  





Coordinate with interiors for what is their task or MX items and move in WO accordingly.  





Coordinate with parts room for tracking of parts set to arrive each day for flow of INSP.  





Walk around your sections looking for techs who may need help, and coach as needed for growth and improvement while ensuring technicians are observing safety precautions.  





Direct the work of Leads and technicians on shift.  





Look at overall aircraft for anything that might need fixed that wasn't caught on inspection.  





Review CAMP cards, open/close sheets for correctness.  





Review all parts request prior to submitting to corridor.  





Give updates to MX Manager periodically over the shift.  





Ensure maintenance technicians timecards are correct and submitted to payroll on a timely schedule.  





Make recommendations for hiring, firing and promotions for Leads and Technicians.  





Complete shift turnover log for your inspections/turn over to next shift.  





Senior Crew Leads are expected to maintain a minimum of 50% billable time during their shift. 



Skills and Abilities 



Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, systems, tools, and testing methods. 





High attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. 





Ability to read and interpret aircraft manuals. 





Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 





Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel). 





Leadership and time management skills. 





Adaptability and performance under pressure. 





Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration. 





Strong reasoning, memorization, and problem-solving skills. 





Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. 



Competencies 



Microsoft Office Suite 





Corridor 





CAMP 





Familiarity with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations 





Scissor Lift Certified (Preferred) 





Forklift Certified (Preferred) 



Supervisory Responsibilities 



Provide leadership and direction to assigned maintenance personnel, ensuring work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards. 





Support the Maintenance Manager in handling time and attendance, PTO, and performance concerns for technicians. 





Help manage shift scheduling and coverage. 





Serve as a mentor to Technicians and Leads, offering technical guidance and development. 





Collaborate with Maintenance leadership to implement improvements and uphold safety standards. 





Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety. 



Work Environment 



Frequent exposure to fumes, mechanical parts, vibration, and noise inside and outside hangar. 





Exposure to extreme weather conditions and aircraft engine noise. 



Physical Demands 



Ability to stand, lie, and kneel in tight spaces. 





Perform work on scaffolding and ladders. 





Regularly lift and pull up to 75 lbs. 





Manual dexterity for tool use and repair work. 





Visual acuity to inspect and identify defects. 





Hearing ability to assess mechanical sound conditions. 



Dress Code and Uniform 



Well-groomed appearance. 





Adherence to department dress code. 



Travel Required 



Some travel may be required (less than 10%).
