Job Description

AECOM is seeking a seasoned Sr. Natural Resource Scientist/Regulatory Specialist within our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) Practice in the Northeast US.

This role is to support our Power/Electric Transmission market sector, state/local and industrial client sectors.  Prior experience and proficiency with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations, MEPA, USACE S. 404 and other New England Regulatory Programs required. Strong written and verbal skills needed as is the ability to present at public hearings.

• Particular focus will be supporting field studies, surveys and preparing permit applications for projects supporting electrical transmission infrastructure, renewables including offshore wind interconnects, solar development projects, transportation and state/local infrastructure projects. The Position is based in New England and can be remote. 
• Specific prior experience supporting natural resources field studies, surveys and environmental permitting of electrical transmission or transportation projects required with particular focus in Massachusetts, CT, RI and NH highly desirable.
• Prior experience supporting wetlands delineation, T&E surveys and GIS background desirable. 
• Prior experience in task and project management, client engagement and business development/proposal preparation desirable.

The candidate will be joining one of the strongest and deepest EPP Teams in the northeast with an extensive backlog of project work in multiple client sectors and a strong presence in the renewable energy arena, in particular Offshore Wind Energy Permitting.  This is a full-time career opportunity and opportunity to work in a strong team environment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• The candidate will have a BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geology or related field and + 6 years-experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and / or education. 
• As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in science related studies desirable 8 + years of experience.

Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $160,000.
