JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance to join our growing team.

 

Overview

Qualified applicants will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems. Applicant must be proactive in addressing different challenges and is willing to adapt, based on the business needs.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Graduation from high school, or possession of a G.E.D.
  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing related plant equipment or other related commercial equipment is highly desirable
  • 1-2 years of Maintenance Planner experience in managing projects
  • Critical thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and ability to read blueprints.
  • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
  • Be able to pass basic mechanical aptitude test along with shop fabrication test
  • Ability to balance multiple projects in an organized manner
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong team working and communication skills. Be able to lead and work with a diverse team
  • Good understanding of mechanical principals is a plus
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Willing to undergo a thorough background and drug screening process

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to perform installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of any mechanical or rotating equipment
  • Make rounds during shift to inspect equipment by looking, listening and feeling of operating machines and equipment
  • Make timely repairs of any noticeable defects at first opportunity.
  • Maintain personal tools and company provided tools in top working order
  • Cross train with the Electrician’s to perform basic duties when needed and called upon
  • Pass forklift operator’s test and operate forklift to move heavy parts and materials as needed

 

 

 

  • Monitor Tool Storage cage for missing or damaged tools and report findings to Maintenance Manager
  • Be the first point of contact during a repair and lead others in a safe and organized manner
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Be able to read and use various measuring devices in order to align motors to pumps and gearboxes
  • Be able to align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, string lines and plumb bobs
  • Be familiar with various coupling systems such as belts and sheaves, lovejoy and grid couplings
  • Use computer based parts program to locate spare parts in a timely fashion
  • Assemble and install complex equipment, using specialized tools following O&E Manuals
  • Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts

  • Be able to work at heights, on high structures and top of buildings, also operate scissor lifts and man lifts when needed
  • Layout basic piping systems according to drawings and weld pipe joints and fittings using flanges and spiral wound gaskets
  • Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with a power drill or drill press
  • Square up and level equipment using basic math formulas, straightedge, levels, or transit
  • Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, pinch bars, com-a-longs and other hand tools
  • Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, bearings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment
  • Use cutting torch and welding equipment to fabricate framing, guards and jigs to assist with maintenance work
  • Perform Electrical skills including but not limited to, effectively using a Multi-Meter, replacing fuses, identifying motor phases, troubleshoot sensors and switches, and read simple electrical schematics.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager
