The General Counsel’s Office has many areas of business and administrative law.

 

The Work You Will Do:

Under the direction of the Executive Assistant this position will perform in a highly responsible manner providing support to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsels, and Office Manager. The duties of this position are broad in objective and integrate the diverse functions of the Office of The General Counsel. Work includes the performance of duties involving independent formulation and analysis, with the ability to recommend and follow through with a course of action. The employee must be productive under a tight time frame, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain a goal-directed behavior and performance, sometimes under stressful conditions.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Prepares and maintains highly complex legal documents and correspondence, including drafting correspondence/motions/notices/orders. Prepares hearing materials as need.
  • Assists with coordinating witnesses, or parties for hearings.
  • Drafts outgoing correspondence for review and action by the Deputy General Counsels.
  • Assists with tracking incoming documents and maintaining them for retrieval purposes. Prepares outgoing mail and processes incoming mail.
  • Assists with accepting subpoenas and summons from the security desk.
  • In coordination with the Executive Assistant, receives and welcomes visitors, identifying the reason or nature of business.
  • Maintains accurate schedules and calendars for attorneys, scheduling meetings and appointments and keeping attorneys informed of upcoming meetings and deadlines. Also, may assist with travel for the executive office.
