Check it out!)</strong><h2><br/></h2><h1>R&D MANAGER</h1><h4>The R&D Manager oversees research and development activities aimed at advancing Gazelle's technology. This role plans and executes strategic R&D initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. Additionally, the R&D Manager establishes strategic partnerships with external entities, facilitating knowledge exchange and resource acquisition.</h4><h3>Department</h3><ul><li>Technology & Innovation</li></ul><h3>Qualification level</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering</li></ul><h3>Location</h3><ul><li>Portugal</li></ul><h3>Hiring date</h3><ul><li>01-04-2025</li></ul><h3>Professional experience</h3><ul><li>6-10 years of experience in Research & Development, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a related industry.</li><li>Demonstrated track record of leading R&D projects from concept to commercialization, with a focus on innovation and technology advancement.</li><li>Experience managing multidisciplinary teams of researchers, engineers, and scientists.</li></ul><h3>Specific professional specialization relevant</h3><ul><li>Expertise in renewable energy technologies, particularly wind energy, and offshore wind systems.</li><li>Specialization in areas such as hydro/aerodynamics, structural dynamics, materials science relevant to wind energy R&D.</li><li>Familiarity with emerging technologies and research trends in the renewable energy sector, including offshore wind turbine design, floating platforms, and advanced materials.</li></ul><h3>Others requirements</h3><ul><li>Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive innovation and manage R&D projects within budget and schedule constraints.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.</li><li>Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying research opportunities, setting priorities, and allocating resources effectively.</li><li>Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) management, patent processes, and technology transfer practices relevant to R&D activities.</li><li>Understanding of regulatory requirements, environmental considerations, and market dynamics impacting the renewable energy industry.</li><li>Proficiency in data analysis, experimental design, and research methodologies, with the ability to evaluate and interpret technical data and results.</li><li>Fluency in English is required; Portuguese is beneficial but not mandatory.</li></ul><h3>Activities/Functions</h3><ul><li>Lead and manage the R&D activities within the organization, including developing R&D strategies, goals, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.</li><li>Identify research opportunities and technology gaps in the renewable energy sector, particularly in offshore wind, and develop plans to address them through innovation and experimentation.</li><li>Manage R&D projects from inception to commercialization, including budgeting, resource allocation, and project execution, while ensuring compliance with timelines and deliverables.</li><li>Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the R&D team, encouraging creativity, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and business development, to integrate R&D findings into product development and commercialization processes.</li><li>Establish partnerships and collaborations with external research organizations, universities, government agencies, and industry partners to leverage expertise, resources, and funding opportunities.</li><li>Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in the renewable energy sector, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.</li><li>Communicate R&D progress, results, and potential impact to internal stakeholders, external partners, investors, and regulatory agencies through presentations, reports, and publications.</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines in conducting R&D activities, maintaining the integrity and reputation of the organization.</li></ul><h3>General conditions</h3><ul><li><h3>Location:</h3></li><li>Based in our Viana do Castelo office.</li><li>Minimum 3 days per week in the office, ideally 4-5 days.</li><li><h3>Contract & Working Hours:</h3></li><li>Permanent contract with an initial trial period.</li><li>40-hour work week.</li><li>22 days of vacation annually.</li><li><h3>Compensation & Benefits:</h3></li><li>Salary range: €3,571 - €5,714 gross per month (based on experience), 14 salaries per year.</li
