Product Management - Technology Solutions
The Sr. Product Analyst (Hardware) position is responsible for researching, defining and determining business and high-level design requirements in J. J. Keller's Technology Solutions area for new and redesigned product / service offerings to include mobile and connected device components (such as Video Training Books, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), Dash Cameras, and GPS Vehicle Tracking). This includes defining the client experience and needed changes to related back-office systems, and supporting the business-related aspects involved with product/service delivery.
This is a hybrid position which will require you to work onsite 2-3 days per week at our corporate campus in Neenah, WI and provide flexibility to work from home the remaining days each week.
Job Responsibilities
- Creates business requirements to include a business and project plan/concept document for each new and redesigned/envisioned product/service offering or feature enhancement, including working with business unit to define business needs, project requirements, system specifications, and deliverables.
- Becomes a subject matter expert for topic and service deliverables related to the product/service, including regulatory expertise as applicable. May participate in customer/market needs analysis to identify product enhancements that address those needs.
- May oversee feature prioritization, grooming, and minimal viable project (MVP) scope management in partnership with the Development teams, including utilizing technical toolsets and methodologies.
- Evaluates build/buy/partner decisions to fill hardware gaps in product lines, advocates for the best decision for the company and customer and execute project to final solution in conjunction with supporting service.
- Manages hardware design and build projects including identification of appropriate manufacturing, engineering, and testing partners/ resources, project schedules, risks, budgets, and communication.
- Focuses on total hardware solutions including equipment/ harness identification, validation, and necessary build/ buy decisions with focus on the customer journey from hardware through service.
- Manages device management and data lifecycle including data/ network partners, device management external/ internal partners, and support needs
- Prepares documentation and support materials for product/service line enhancements, for example meeting minutes, business case reports, sales training, market research, price change information, etc.
- Communicates new/envisioned service deliverables to affected business areas and helps the operational areas define service delivery needs. In some areas, may also help determine the overall cost of goods for service delivery.
- Troubleshoots system errors and performance problems so that the business needs are met on a timely basis. Provides assistance on complex support questions or functional questions.
- Analyzes recurring service issues and client enhancement requests to identify improvement opportunities.
- In some areas, supports and delivers training on new products/services with sales enablement and company stakeholders as needed.
- Provides on-going service and business support with sales, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with technical teams, end users, management, and other stakeholders to facilitate activities, maintain on-going communication, and coordinate decisions based on business requirements, system functionality, and best business practices.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 4+ years of business-related experience, preferably working with product/services related to the specific business area.
- Experience with report writing/query tools such as SQL, PowerBI, etc. a plus.
- Experience working with business software applications, preferably with mobile and connected device components.
- Project leadership experience.
- Experience writing requirements for business software applications a strong plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in business-related field.
- In lieu of degree, will consider an additional 4 years of directly related experience.
