The Role: 

As the Executive Director, Software Engineering, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare delivery. Your role encompasses the full spectrum of developing and ensuring the quality of solutions and services that not only bring joy to caregivers but also add strategic value to our organization. From assessing requirements and estimating costs to designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions, you'll set and uphold quality benchmarks using metrics and insights to enhance caregiver experiences. Your role also involves optimizing the engineering process, managing risks and dependencies, and integrating software into broader ecosystems.

What You'll Do:

  • Innovation Leader: Take charge of software solutions, architecture strategy, design, and engineering deliverables within our supported portfolio.
  • Technical Visionary: Lead the team in creating technical solutions that deliver expected value to partners and align with PSJH's strategic goals, ensuring iterative designs are primed for successive releases.
  • Market Trend Expert: Stay ahead of industry shifts, advising business leaders on emerging solutions, and crafting technical solutions that excel in the marketplace.
  • Strategic Guide: Develop conceptual models for future solutions incorporating market, technology, and business trends, advising leaders on capabilities and technologies for future visions.
  • Cross-Service Planner: Utilize a cross-service perspective to plan and design technical solutions, defining software, tools, cloud services, processes, role assignments, dependencies, and documentation to deliver high-performance, resilient services.
  • Quality Advocate: Foster a culture of quality within the Engineering teams, ensuring that standards align with service objectives.
  • Testing Architect: Lead engineers in designing solutions for unit, integrated, load/perf, and security testing, achieving quality KPIs.
  • Data Guru: Leverage profound data expertise to source, connect, and describe its impact, ensuring solutions enhance the caregiver experience.
  • Agile Leader: Prioritize work across teams, enabling agility and quick priority shifts, fostering a dynamic and responsive environment.
  • Lifecycle Optimizer: Transform engineering lifecycles to achieve system improvements that drive caregiver and business objectives.
  • Collaborative Innovator: Drive innovative thinking across the division, enhancing quality, engineering solutions, and responsiveness to feedback.
  • Team Builder: Build diverse and inclusive teams that engage effectively, focusing on hiring, talent development, and performance management.
  • Strategic Communicator: Effectively convey business strategy and goals, align team efforts, maintain energy through changing priorities, and collaborate with peers to achieve global caregiver representation.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields or equivalent education/experience. (Masters preferred)
  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience, with extensive experience leading technical teams in complex, fast-paced environments (healthcare experience preferred). 5+ years of recent extensive ServiceNow experience strongly preferred. 
  • Data-Driven Insight: Strong capability in leveraging data and metrics to drive decisions across the team and IS.
  • Relationship Builder: Proven ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and executive leadership, aligning cross-functionally.
  • Expert Practitioner: Expertise in software engineering best practices, with hands-on experience and the ability to mentor others.
  • Leadership Catalyst: Demonstrated ability to contribute as a key member of a high-performing executive leadership team, driving consistent change and leadership.
  • Independent Achiever: Proven capability to perform autonomously, lead and grow technical teams, and cultivate future technical and management leaders.
