POSITION: Career/Business Development Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Career/Business Development Specialist reports to the Senior Manager - Center Director. Works closely with the Career Business Service Unit and partner public agencies to assure that there is coordination and compatibility of career customer services and employment opportunities. Emphasis is placed on job readiness, skill development of job seekers so as to ensure appropriate skill-job development and placement services. The Career/Business Specialist is responsible for planning and attaining the established career and placement goals of the Center and/or Target Projects. The C/B Dev. Specialist oversees outreach and interface with target occupational sector training groups, business and community. C/B Specialist facilitates customer flow, work site placement and the engagement of partner stakeholders. Ensures timely delivery of program, training, placement, and employer services and compliance with required contract requirements. Interfaces with job seekers, develops comprehensive Job Seeker profiles and collaborates with partners to identify of business-employment service needs, assuring linkages with compatible and growth sector occupational sectors. Conducts labor market information, ONET and labor and human resources trend analysis research to facilitate the entry and/or re-entry of career seekers into the job market, career paths and high growth industries and or transition job seeker into interim job placement and skill enhancement. C/B Specialist prepares productivity reports data and information to measure individual, Program and center goal attainment.

Promotes customer satisfaction with both the career seeker and employers, interfacing directly with staff teams to develop public outreach, target and sustain customer flow, develop new business sector initiatives that contribute to job and economic growth of the region. Prepares and submits productivity reports demonstrated success and/or recommendations for improvement in services and customer satisfaction. C/B Project Specialist Works closely with Administrator, Intake MIS Staff in maintaining efficient and timely customer records and service documentation and to ensure compliance with Federal, State and City/County Workforce requirements.

REQUIREMENTS: BA and two years professional experience in workforce service sector or education and four years professional experience in workforce business development services. Is able to comfortably manage a variety of tasks and work with team members. Possess a professional and customer service attitude. Strong analytical and communication skills, proactive, independent worker who's comfortable with a team approach to management. Computer background a must. Second language a plus. Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster. Must provide recent TB test.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California Driver's license. Applicant must submit to and pass a urinalysis test and a criminal background check as a pre-condition to employment.
