- Works on an in-depth basis with individual students’ exceptional needs to implement intensive behavioral therapy and tutoring to selected students one-on-one or in small groups. Observes, monitors, and redirects the behavior of students within approved procedures.
- Responds to and provides immediate, therapeutic interventions in crisis situations. Supports other treatment team members that are responding to crisis situations in the program.
- Develops and uses behavior intervention plans, including incentives as positive reinforcement, in conjunction with the therapist, teacher, and other program staff.
- Participates in consultations with parents and staff on behavior intervention therapy for students. Attends Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings to support the connection between educational goals and therapeutic interventions.
- Prepares schedules for coverage in classrooms and other learning environments. Assembles instructional/therapeutic materials. Provides coaching and mentorship to other staff in the program on behavior management techniques, handling crisis situations
