About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

Matthews International, a company with over 175 years of success and stability is currently hiring Experienced Maintenance Technicians for our Bronze Foundry. As a global leader in memorialization, we take pride in our craftsmanship and commitment to quality — and it all starts with our people.

 

Our Sr Maintenance Technicians maintain, install and repair facility equipment in accordance with OEM specifications in our Bronze Foundry.  They will be responsible for  preventative maintenance schedules, conducting emergency repairs quickly to maintain production flow and quality standards using various hand tools, power equipment, technical manuals and blue prints.

 

We have 2nd and 3rd shift Openings.   Must be available to work these shifts.     Training for the first 90 days will be first shift then transition into the shifts below:

2nd Shift;   Monday - Friday,  2pm - 11:30pm

3rd Shift;  Monday - Friday, 9pm - 6:30am

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules.
  • Performs work in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Reports quality and production concerns to supervisor.
  • Conducts technician level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Keeps work environment neat and clean.
  • Conducts technician level repairs, installations and upgrades on assigned equipment.
  • Diagnoses (Troubleshoots) electrical systems and controls.
  • Performs repairs using machine shop tools and practices.
  • Monitors facility systems and take necessary corrective action.
  • Assists with training and provide input to assist other team members and other department personnel.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of previous maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical training and/or experience preferred.  Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plc experience strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•    The noise level in the work environment may be high.
