Engineering Intern

$22.00 to $25.00 Hourly Depending on Experience

The City of Morro Bay is pleased to announce we are currently recruiting for an Engineering Internship position!

This is a part-time, temporary position with 15 to 24 working hours per week.  

About the Position

Under the supervision of the City Engineer, the Engineering Intern will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the preparation of Construction Plans and Specifications
• Assisting in the construction oversight and inspection of Public Works and Encroachment permit projects
• Map and data development and maintenance
• Technical and operational support
• Inspections
• Special projects, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrollment or recent graduation in a college or university with major course work in Civil,
• Agricultural, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent (junior, senior or graduate students preferred)
• Candidates holding a valid California driver's license are strongly preferred

• AutoCAD
• Interpreting plans
• GIS programs
• Written and verbal communication
• Public service; interest in learning about local, public processes for project implementation
