Overview of Responsibilities

1. Acts as a liaison between inpatient, outpatient, and outreach customers and laboratory personnel by providing information and resolving service issues in a timely and courteous manner. 2. Fills online orders for lab supplies for the outreach collection sites.3. Retrieves and processes specimens from the Outpatient Care Center and the pneumatic tubes.4. Checks-in specimens from couriers and signs courier manifests5. Remains proficient in Cerner information systems and Epic Cadence and Chart review navigation. Maintains documentation as appropriate. 6. Performs general clerical office work associated with laboratory operations including answering and transferring telephone calls, specimen logging and labeling, registration and order entry, report distribution, and report scanning into the medical record. 7. Registers and processes Extended Care Facility (ECF) orders for non-Epic providers8. Follows instructions, makes reasonable judgments, and uses resources to answer questions and problem solve while understanding their limitations.9. Escalates issues and complaints promptly and appropriately to management.10. Adheres to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Education/Experience

Education Required: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience Required: Previous position requiring critical thinking.

Schedule Details

Evening Shift. 40 hours weekly. 2pm to 10:30pm Mon - Fri. Flex schedule option for coverage which could include weekends and holidays.
