Your Impact
The DAS Monitoring and Maintenance Field Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves working in the field performing site surveys, conducting system checks, and resolving technical issues to maintain high standards of service and performance.
A Glimpse of What You’ll Do
- Assist with the preparation of iBwave designs, component selection and evaluation, detailed schematic design, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting RF and communication systems
- Configure DAS components, including antennas, repeaters, and related hardware
- Perform site surveys and assessments to determine installation requirements and optimal antenna placements utilizing PCTel scanner, Anritsu and Rohde & Schwarz test equipment
- Perform thorough troubleshooting of DAS systems both remotely and on-site. Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime
- Identify and resolve issues related to signal strength, coverage, and system functionality
- Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks to prevent potential issues and ensure system stability
- Diagnose and repair faults or failures in DAS components
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system changes
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, installation procedures, and maintenance activities
- Generate and present regular reports on system performance, maintenance status, and any issues encountered
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the system's performance
- Adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies while performing duties
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in DAS and wireless communications
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in installing or maintaining and troubleshooting DAS systems
- Recent certifications in DAS OEM’s
- Ability to perform cellular data collections (PCTEL)
- Understanding of DAS OEM platforms
- Able to interpret designs of small to mid-scale in-building DAS projects
