This position will be responsible for providing exceptional training in order to produce safe and qualified truck drivers. Our CDL instructors are responsible for assessing the skills, performance, productivity, and talent of all students. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
PROGRAM OPERATION:
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submits requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS:
- Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION:
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
- Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. C
- onduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
Typical daily duties for our CDL instructors could include:
- Conduct orientation programs and arrange on-the-job training for new employees.
- Provide classroom and hands on training.
- Prepare written evaluations with advice for improvement.
- Prepare and organize training files for students.
- Review training material for accuracy and effectiveness, while ensuring the material complies with all state and federal CDL training requirements.
- Recommend and implement enhancements or modifications to improve
- Exhibit exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills when engaging with students, management, and other professionals.
- Identify areas where training can improve employee safety and creating plans to implement suggested improvements.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology that can provide and track training activity throughout the company.
- Current CDL-A with two years safe driving experience.
- Ability to comply with DOT medical requirements.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to plan, manage time, and multitask effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
