Job Summary

Designs and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum through lesson plans that reflect the center's mission and philosophy, as well as DSS and LMC's standards of excellence. Responsible for the supervision of children, the associate teacher and/or teacher in the assigned classroom while maintaining staff to child rations. Observes and evaluates each child's individual development.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience: 6 Months of Experience in a DSS licensed center.
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): In lieu of an applicable Bachelor's Degree, will consider the following:

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with 5 Years of Experience in a DSS Licensed Center;

High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10 Years of Experience in a DSS Licensed Center
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Experience creating lesson plans and activities for children to stimulate growth and development

Essential Functions

  • Provides a safe and nurturing learning environment while on duty.
  • Ensures an age appropriate and structured learning environment in the classroom at all times.
  • Facilitates positive interactions between children, parents, and team members.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and respond according to LMC and DSS policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create a warm and inviting learning environment.
  • Train and use the CDC communication application with minimal supervision and editing.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by management as needed.
